The 2023 Manila Xiamen International School TED Ed Student Talk Conference was held at the Vienna International Hotel on May 22nd. With the supervision of Mrs. Theresa Legatam and Mr. Mitchel Africa, 23 students of our school were able to share their worth-spreading talks, which ranged from motivational self-development stories to creativity-sparking futuristic ideas.

TED Ed Student Talk is a program that provides the students with the space for discovering, exploring, and sharing their worth-spreading ideas in the form of TED-style talks. The TED Ed Student Talk Program also gives students a chance to find great ideas within themselves and to engage in free activity-based curriculum. This curriculum, which is divided into 13 explorations, assists the students to find their passion, learn the art of feedback, build their throughline, and eventually present their amazing ideas.

The MXIS TED Ed Student Talk Conference of the year was the third TED Talk Conference hosted by our school consecutively. This year, the MXIS TED Ed Club members were guided by club leaders Kevin and Jane Yeo and exploration leader Julie Chen. These leaders, who are respectively 11th, 9th, and 8th graders at our school, have guided the 27 club members for nearly four months with the help of the aforementioned club supervisors. And, as a result of four months of exploration sessions, the 27 club members were able to discover and develop their ideas, as well as their skills and potential as great public speakers.
