The Outcome of the MUN Club

Amoy United Model United Nations Conference (AUMUNC) is an educational program that provides a chance for students to attend Model United Nations (MUN), which can help them acquire valuable skills and experiences. Students who attend AUMUNC are able to develop skills in the aspect of researching, communicating, debating, as well as writing.
This year’s AUMUNC was initially planned to be held from October 1 to 3 at Jimei Middle School, but due to the pandemic, the conference shifted online. This has not halted the delegates to debate enthusiastically about human rights issues in Libya. Furthermore, they came up with resolutions to vote on, and each representative eagerly spoke up for their positions. Through this event, our students not only learned more deeply about Libya’s human rights issues but also engaged and took part in suggesting the most suitable solutions to the issue.
Students of Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS), ranging from grades 6 to 9, were guided by the school’s MUN club leaders: Yeo, Dongha (Kevin), Li Kai (Kenny), and Yu Shih-Lei (Rex), during the two sessions of training. Although it was a short time to teach and learn various skills for MUN, leaders did a great job educating the club members, and some of the participants even received awards in the AUMUNC.
