As information technology dominates the world in the digital era, possibilities are endless. As technology continues to globalize the world, businesses develop rapidly too.
With the intense competition of the undergraduates, the new generation focuses only on building up experiences. The real-world business was very different compared to the lessons taught in class. So, what is business? Business is a complicated system that involves acquiring the needs of customers and designing a specific product to suit those needs. Understanding business is no small feat. The basic branches of business theory include strategy, marketing, finance, human resources, technology and equipment, and operation. The purpose of understanding business theory is to better grasp the needs of the purchaser, and to acquire profit. This is where business simulation comes in.

Business simulation of the ASDAN China is a competitive environment where future entrepreneurs and CEOs compete to improve themselves and obtain business experience along the way. This educational extracurricular platform is created for beginners to better comprehend basic and complex business elements and factors such as operation and marketing. This experimental learning tool is where participants could learn and experience a realistic environment, interact, and cooperate with fellow teammates in a virtual, risk-free environment. Business simulation does not just help participants develop financial and business skills and an entrepreneurial mindset; it also aims to instill a sense of responsibility in the next generation by giving out a “Sustainable Development Goals ” challenge.

Alex Wong, a club leader in business, has taught the participants since the start of the semester. He and other leaders prepared the first timers and helped them understand business. The junior team in this Business Simulation competition is mostly composed of newbies, so the competition was challenging for them. Despite such pressure, the junior team still accomplished significantly. The senior team, one of the most formidable teams, surpassed most teams in all ways and won four major awards. They work tirelessly and have almost perfected their operations.
“Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”
-Will Rogers
I keep reminding this quote above to myself of during the tiresome business battle. With my few experiences in business related competition, I am thoroughly enjoying it. Even though the ending is not neat, happy, or sad, just remember that “business opportunities are like buses; there is always one coming”. Remember This is one great quote I hearing from spoken by Richard Branson. Egrets soar high!
